2 WEEPING WILLOW
Salix babylonica, the weeping willow, a native of China, is also mentioned
in the Bible. In the spring male and female flowers blossom on separate
trees, producing charming, silky soft catkins, which make attractive
displays. Weeping willows grow best in moist soil and often beautify the
landscape near ponds. Today they are hybridized worldwide.
